7th no excuses. Everton will not score like they did without Lukaku. Anything less should see a top manager brought in that will attract a higher level of players and take us to a higher level i.e. top 6.

My expectation would be to challenge for 7th and finish ahead of Stoke, Southampton, and West Brom.
Ultimately he'll need to finish 7th, 8th or 9th...whilst having the team look effective against the top 6 and dismantle a number of the lower level sides.
League placing though as we saw this year are fickle, so it has to be more about how we perform and being in contention for where we want to be in general than the final position.
They need to decide pre-Xmas though, or the uncertainty will derail the second half of the season.

Needs to seriously challenge for a Europa spot.
It's no good signing better players if we don't get into those competitions as they won't stay if we can't be up there and we can't make the next level in signings without being a regular in the top 6.

A decent cup run wouldn't go a miss although I wouldn't hold it against him if this run of getting drawn against the likes of United, City and Chelsea continues.

My expectations from Bilic and the team for next season would be:
1. Top 10 finish
2. Long Cup run
3. Playing entertaining attacking football like we did in Bilic's first season.
4. Stop getting hammered at Home like last season.
I think come January 2018 if those realistic objectives are achieved thus far then he should be awarded a 2 year extension.

The owners seem to have a bit of a habit of setting unrealistic goals. I wouldn't be surprised if they want something like top 7, which imo is just not achieveable. So I think this is probably Bilic's last year even if the team does quite well. Either it goes wrong from the start and he only lasts a month or two, or it goes better and he runs out his contract.

Win the FA Cup would be good but as previously said you need a bit of luck we should have won it 2006. I think we would have gone on to win in 2015 if Schwinestieger hadnt bundled Randolph into the net up at Old Trafford no luck again.

Were in that category of team where a few injuries at the wrong time can mean the difference between 7th and about 14th so although a top ten finish should be a target, I think you also have to take into account other factors like injuries, the overall performance of the team and if, on the pitch at least, were moving in the right direction
It'd be nice if there was a throwback to 2 seasons ago where we didn't just roll over against good teams and actually have a decent account of ourselves.
As others have said, cup run would be great but you really are at the mercy of the draw and then what team the big guns out out. But we still shouldn't be humiliated, at home, on tv by anyone

Surely 8th has to be the best we can reasonably expect? I would say the minimum should be 10th, but it depends on other things too. We were close to finishing 9th last season but it could never be classed as a good season as we were in the bottom half for most of it, in danger of relegation, struggling at home and on the wrong end of some spankings.
I want us to be able to hold our own against any team in the league, regardless of the result. Similar to the season before last.

Pub bigot, given our squad on paper if the pending deals come off, we avoid the usual injury crisis and the a second of our fan base, 8th is a reasonable position to expect. Anything else and it highlights that Billic is not good enough for a club with our potential.

Drawn against Chelsea in the league cup, then getting Man U as 'reward'
Drawn against Man City in the FA Cup.
It doesn't get much harsher than that.

Cups are a lottery - to a degree. Also depends if you treat them properly and not with contempt like we have been guilty of in the past.

We COULD at a push make 6th (we won't though)
We should be nowhere near relegation
No excuse not to go full pelt in cups with strongest team. Anything else what is the point of each season?
